Fucking Russian version bullshit. BF3 RUS To ENG PATCH 1.1 rar

Since we have russian versions, it updated the russian files and not the english ones. I'm posting this at work and haven't done it yet.

Pre, sadly that doesn't fix it. The only support person that I got that was any help had me switch it over to Russian and then patch it, still didn't work :/

You didn't do it right...? I have both the Extended Edition and standard and it worked for both of them.
1. Let it update.
2. Merge the Update folder in Program Files\Origin Games\Battlefield 3.
3. Then copy GDFBinary_en_US in Program Files\Origin Games\Battlefield 3.

did exactly that, still doesn't work.

I just installed it again. miniPRE wanted his bedroom computer to have his games on it. It only has an 8800gt, which is the minimum. So I let it install, from scratch. Start it up, it's in Russian. I knew it would be. I copied the 2 english language files that we got from the 1st time we got it in english, en.toc & en.sb into the data\win32\loc folder. Then I copied the files in the BF3 RUS to ENG patch 1.1 link, in the Program Files\Battlefield 3 folder. Then I went into regedit and chaged anything that pointed to the rus files and made them point to the eng ones. Didn't have to create anything new in regedit.

I wonder if it's a Vista issue?

It probably is... Vista seems to have a lot of quirky *read as shitty* issues.

So, looking through the EA forums, thousands of people have come out to rage about this update, and many are like me, completely unable to play. If it's not the black screen, it's constant crashing. Some DICE rep actually started a thread asking people how they like the new patch about a week ago. There has been so much rage in the feedback that the DICE rep hasn't even had the balls to return to the topic. Sigh.

Usually such threads get closed immediately on any forums I've ever been on...so at least DICE/EA has enough intelligence to not try that BS...

EA doesnt admit problems, they make sequels instead usually. Play NCAA 12 and try to pass over a linebacker, youll see what I mean, and that game has been out since summer.

Fortunately this is their brand new cash cow, so they will work on it like they should.

New patch, then you got another black screen when you tried to start the game.
