How do I get my microphone to work on my dell laptop? I want to do video chat so I need my microphone to work. The microphone is supposably built into the laptop.

Not a whole lot of information here to go by.
Well, is the driver installed? Check in the "Sounds" portion of the control panel, under the "Recording" tab and see if anything is listed there. If not, you either don't have a mike (unlikely if your computer has a webcam built-in), or the driver is not installed. In that case, find the driver on Dell's site. If it IS listed in the Recording tab, then make sure there is a green check by it, indicating it is the default device (if need be, right-click it and select the option to set it as default).
If none of this works, GIVE MORE INFORMATION. Just saying it doesn't work is of little help.
