Fixing hit detection

First of all I've been using this before the big update and it did wonders for slug + mag shotguns and over all made guns actually hit people.

http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/genmessa ... c=54397003

Basically, add these two lines;

SettingsManager.floatSet GSDefaultLatencyCompensation 0.0450000
SettingsManager.U32Set GSInterpolationTime 45

to your gamesettings.ini and settings.ini file in the BFBC2 folder.
In gamesettings.ini, add them between the lines;

IntroPlayed=1
[GstPersistence]

In settings.ini, just add it to the end of the list. Save both files.

BEFORE YOU TRY THIS, change the value to your general server ping. For me, when I refresh the list, most servers are 31-45 ping. So, I change the values to .045 and 45 for 45 ping.

Say most of your servers are 73 ping, you'll want to change the values at the end of the previously stated changes to .073 and 73 respectively because you're generaly playing on 73 ping servers.

This seems to be hit or miss. It improves long distance slug aiming but it's having a negative effect on knifing.

When I look at the server list, it says 40-60 pings near the top, but when I enter a server that says 60, when I look at the scoreboard, it says my ping is more like 140ms.

I would be willing to bet that the lower ping is a lie.

I think the ping in the browser is one way and the ping in game is a round trip.

that would make sense, I'm still not sure I want to tweak with the settings file to compensate for latency

You guys using windows 7? Bio told me to switch it to no user account control, then i always see my ping. That's win 7 tho.

Edit: This has made a huge difference for me. As long as I play on servers that are close by. Thanks Crackers!
