Dota 2 and HoN

Post by SirDumpling »

Dota 2, which has been in extremely closed and private beta since May, is going public at gamescom, which will include a 1 million dollar tournament for some of the biggest teams in the world (1 million for the winner, doesn't say anything about 2nd/3rd/etc). Shit's going to be hype as fuck. Hopefully it'll either go into open/invitational beta or even released soon after.

Heroes of newerth is also free to play now. For F2P players, it will have a hero rotation similar to LoL, to encourage people to either play more to unlock more heroes, or to purchase a real account for all of them.

I've been playing HoN for a day or two with a friend who used to play a lot. It's a lot better than it used to be, but still pretty imbalanced.

I doubt it will be and hope it won't be. I don't want to play with anymore Philipinos and BRs that can't afford a 20-30 dollar game. They ruin games with their lack skill, knowledge of the English language and all around idiocy. I've had enough of that with DotA on wc3, even in leagues (that they get vouched in because there's always some retard mod who vouches anyone for a little e-handjob)

A friend actually was giving away HoN copies before it went F2P.
My name is "Tachyon" if you want to add me.

Too strong of an opinion can interfere with the process of collection.

I like HoN a lot.
Stopped playing about two months ago due to imbalances and my friends stopping. Also, the community may be the worst I have ever seen. In any game.

edit: Oh hey first post! Go me!

Go see almost any forum in Nexon's Maplestory forum.
Holy shit.
At least all the non-foreign ragers and QQers have the decency to use okay grammar (granted Maplestory is usually played by 8-12 year olds)

Welcome to the forums, viper!

Dota 2 is supposed to come out for open beta sometime in the fall (says so on the Dota 2 page in the steam store!)

I thought it was immediately after the invitational?
About the invitational, I was surprised to not see a single Korean team on it. I guess they were all too busy with Starcraft :P

DoTA 2 confirmed to be $50.
Some swedish site posted up a pre-order of DoTA 2 for $60 USD
Taking out swedish taxes, that's about $50

With the exception of TF2 almost none of the games I play have been made by the USA. I like playing strategy games from a smaller publisher/developer called Paradox Interactive, and pretty much everything they make comes from eastern Europe.

I wouldn't trust anything that's not steam/valve for the price, lol. I doubt it will be 50. It will probably be 30-40

Still not going to trust it until Valve releases information to the public.
