Good program to burn DVDs and cheap blank DVDs?
Good program to burn DVDs and cheap blank DVDs?
Does anyone still burn DVDs? The cops at my job are always bugging people to burn movies for their kids and shit and they pay like $5 a pop.
I need a good program to burn DVDs that would allow me to put a background or the title menus and shit in it. Also whats a good cheap brand of blank dvds? Was just gonna go to Target and buy some but im sure they have them cheaper online.

Lol, are you sure they're not just trying to bust people for the illegal distribution of copyrighted material?

I think all blank dvds are like 10 cents a piece now when you buy in a 50 or 100 spindle.

They already had multiple past employees who sold them dvds at my job but just ended up stopping, the last guy they begged to keep doing it lol. A lot of people where i work are like over 30yrs old with kids so they are more then willing to throw around $3-5 a pop for a DVD then like $12.50 for a movie ticket in NYC.Tobuoi wrote:Lol, are you sure they're not just trying to bust people for the illegal distribution of copyrighted material?
Gonna check Newegg to see if they have cheap spindles of them, anyone know a good program for burning? I havent done this in a while.
EDIT: And wtf? DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD+R, DVD+RW, DVD-R DL and DVD+R DL, which do i get!

Between DVD-R and DVD+R there isn't a big difference. I haven't bought DVDs in a while, but I know (when I used to buy them) DVD+R were more expensive.
DVD+R was also created and advertised as being more compatible with electronics (DVD Players etc...) But as it stands, both models have about the same compatibility rate.
DVD+RW are DVDs that can be erased and rewritten, these are more expensive and will most likely not be something you would be looking at. Also I've seen alot of DVD Players on the market that cannot play "Re-Writable" DVDs.
Now for Dual Layers, instead of 4.7GB of data you get 8.5Gb of Data (Single Sided Dual Layers). You can also get double sided Dual Layers which can get you 9.4Gb of Data (It's like having two DVDs glued together lol). The Single Sided DVDs are also a problem with DVD Players since some of them cannot read them.
TLDR; For your application (Making DVD Movies) I would go with DVD-R.

Don't waste your time or money buying dual layers.
You can reencode a DVD9 to a DVD5 very easily. The key factor is bit rate. You don't want your bit rate to drop down below 2700 or something close to that. Maybe 3600. Who the fuck cares about that. What you care about is how much profit you can make off these corrupt bastards. To do that, stick with dvd-r or dvd+r. You can buy them in bulk here's a 100 pack for $17.99
Use DVD rebuilder to remove the copyright protection and reencode any dvd to dvd5.
Use infrarecorder to burn to disk. If you need an invite to a torrent site, I have some.
