So I was having some problems with my HTPC with the onboard audio sounding like shit, so I bought myself a Asus Xonar DS. I immediately noticed how much the sound improved, and the DS also supports true 7.1 sound with DTS (will sound much better when I start upgrading my sound system).
I was so impressed with the improvement I bought myself the Asus Xonar DG to use with my headphones on my PC. Holy shit, the improvement is insane. I always had some static noise going on mainly from my microphone and some from my speakers but this card completely eliminated it all. All audio is like 100x crisper and cleaner and I absolutely love this purchase.. I would recommend this card if you are using headphones as it has a built in headphone amp, and is only $17 after rebate.
