Well after coming to the shitty realization that I'm actually going to have to buy another piece of software that I already own, does anyone have a better deal then this one for a copy of windows?

Pretty good price, yes, not seen better in a long time.

I'm assuming you were trying to use the copy from your old computer? Microsoft can be hit-or-miss on letting you deactivate and move to a new computer.

just remember thats an upgrade version your looking at, so you will either have to install a older version of windows first then install the upgrade or you will have to double install the upgrade.

ive been using a OEM win 7 pro for awhile got 3 mobo registrations out of it but they finally locked it out so i ordered a retail version this time so i can install how how many comps i want and they cant do nothing.

FUCK it is... well wtf b/c in the description they tell you what to do if you're installing it fresh on a new system *i.e. through the bios*... wtf. I'll contact microsoft I guess.

Yeah, when you upgrade it generally installs a new, "fresh" Windows.

but you had a version of windows already installed on the machine,

if you didnt you would have to do the double install trick

no you can use the upgrade

just install with the upgrade disc and use the custom install then dont put in the serial leave it blank

then do another install of an upgrade then put in your serial

Not sure if schools still do this but 5 years ago I used to be able to buy copies of windows from my university for like $10 a pop. Of course this was XP and Vista, not sure if your school bookstore or tech center offers the same.

Murbuto, I'm thinking he'd prefer something LEGAL to avoid the issues that come with cracked versions of Windows....

Yeah I looked for some cracked ISO's etc, and really couldn't find any that both WORKED and had a good crack.
