Microsoft also has a similar deal going on with Win7 for $30. Although it says it's an "Upgrade" version I'm currently using it without upgrading anything. SandvichSpy can confirm this as well:
Windows 7 Professional: http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/mss ... up_Windows
They also have a deal for a free Xbox when you buy a select PC or laptop on that site. There have been some decent deals.

If you purchase the Windows and you do a clean install, make sure it is activated. If Windows keeps asking you to activate that means you did something wrong. At the end of 30 days, if it is still not activated Windows will refuse to boot.

Well since I'm on the topic of deals for students, Amazon is offering students with a valid .edu address 6 months free of their Amazon prime service. Amazon Prime offers you free shipping on all goods sold by Amazon with a guarantee two day delivery. In addition, if you want to upgrade to next day delivery, it is $3.99 per item.

I seriously love my Prime membership. I can buy cereal and have it shipped to my house at a cost cheaper then going to the supermarket.
