Adobe Creative Suite...

Okay, so I need Adobe Creative Suite for school (about $350, student price) in a few weeks and I'm not sure whether or not I wanna buy it or just pirate it. Is there any reason NOT to pirate it?

I think the new ones, CS4 and up have some shitty DRM check which of course hackers have found a way around but last time I looked it was a pain in the ass.

Check with your school bookstore, they often have special deals.

Also, look at http://www.journeyed.com/, they have about the best student pricing I've ever seen outside of schools sometimes. Just have to have some sort of "valid" student ID to scan and email them. I say "valid" because I just renewed my acct with them a couple months ago and I graduated over a year ago...

You just need to change your host files so that Adobe doesn't connect to the internet to pirate the CS4 shit. Personally, I like CS3 better but I have CS5 for the 3D.

If you decide to pirate the steps are easier than they seem.

Why do you NEED adobe CS? Shouldn't the computers you will be using have CS on them? Don't get me wrong, I understand that the convenience of having it right there for you is great but at my college the PC's we used (computers in the computer science lab) were open 24 hours. And if you're living on campus they can't be much more than 10 minutes away.

$350 for software is outrageous under any circumstance other than a corporate license. Usually workarounds for DRM are as easy as copy-paste here, type this code there.
