Catalyst 11.6 - 6/15/2011
Installed the recent version of CCC with Drivers and was getting a BSOD on startup, rolling back and suggesting people avoid this version for a while.

Never had any crashes with my card at all so I can't tell you. Maybe read the changes in the update?SandvichSpy wrote:I haven't gotten this one yet. Anyone know if it'll fix a display driver crash caused by java applets?

Gotta love doing a clean OS install and still getting a BSoD on startup. ATI = pro

Although Intel/Nvidia offer higher performing CPU/GPUs, AMD/ATI offers better value for your dollar. I think it's a little harder to argue that on the CPU market, as Intel is farther ahead, but ont he GPU market, I really don't see the point of buying NVIDIA when ATI is so much cheaper at almost the same performance.

Re: Catalyst 11.6 - 6/15/2011
CPUs Intel really closed the price gap with Sandy Bridge to the point where there is really no reason right now to get AMD CPUs. On GPUs, Nvidia and AMD/ATI are very closely matched on price/performance segments. Yes, at a certain price point you can get pretty similar performance, but I argue that NVidia's drivers tend to be a bit better. I know others disagree, but that has been my experience...IM A COMPUTAH wrote:Although Intel/Nvidia offer higher performing CPU/GPUs, AMD/ATI offers better value for your dollar. That's really weird o.ONewman wrote:6990
Would expect that kind of problem from some of the 58xx or 59xx.
I'm on a 5570 right now and only get some error. (Graphically, really.)
