mic buzz

Post by Lance Uppercut »

I have an abs AZ-1 headset. For some reason in valve games I get a loud buzz when I use my microphone and nobody can understand me. TF2 and L4D2 are the only place I've noticed it, skype and everything else work fine. Can't seem to find any similar issues on the web. Any ideas?
(windows 7 btw)

I had some weird issues with my mic in TF2 at one point. It just randomly started breaking up and whatnot. I googled it and the most common solution I saw was to install RealTek Audio something-or-other. For whatever reason, it worked. I'm guessing that, since, like me, you have no problems in other programs and that it's exclusive to TF2/L4D2, you might require a similar solution.

Mic Buzz sounds like a radio guy's name. Mic Buzz in the mornings

I have nothing to contribute to this thread other than that. I'm sorry.

I'm okay with that...guess I should send the manufacturer a message, I've fiddled with this thing way too long.

I'm sure you have tried this but disable your gain boost and test the voice input with some different slide settings. Also check your Windows settings for any Mic gain boost.

Hopefully its just feedback.
