Well the reason I post that one from newegg is it has a cord that you can them put the reliever part on your desktop. The only other way to bypass the usb all together is to get a PCI wireless card. Do you have a USB 2.0 port?

You could try changing your set-up a bit (move your desktop somewhere more open/point the back towards your signal)

I'd figure out why your computer is overheating before you do too much...you'll just burn out something else (like your mobo itself).

If your PC is in a cuby hole in a desk then no matter what you do it will have heat issues. I would try and place your PC on top of your desk to get the best air flow. I always keep my PC on my desk. My PSU is mounted on the top of my case and it shouldn't be a issue if you case has adequate fans/air flow. My case has the option to mount the PSU on the bottom or the top but I choose to mount it on the top and use a 120mm fan on the bottom because the air flow on the bottom lower left below the video card or cards never has the right air flow in most cases.

As Mullet said. Don't enclose it. You are just going to keep burning stuff out. I don't put mine on my desk, but on the floor with about a foot of open space behind it, no worries with venting out the back properly. It really doesn't matter where you put it if you allow adequate air flow in-out and away from the case. 2 9800's kick out a LOT of heat.
