what should i get ... it can be 299.99 before tax not a big deal


but what should i get and why

i have a 260 right now

I'd be looking at the 68xx/69xx Radeon cards personally. I think they're in that range, certainly the one Mullet linked. Or 500-series Nvidia, but those are much more as I recall and I think the 68xx/69xx are better (correct me if I am wrong, I've not been paying much attention of late).

6970 beats out 570 just by a tiny bit in 3dmark. In most games, it's often a tossup between the 570 and 6970, but the 5870 outperformed them both in one of the games.

Okay now your TF2 will run @ 500+ FPS. you will still have a choke issue.
