Re: Ping Issues with TF2
1) Does it happen in any other game/on other maps?
2) Are there other people using your internet?
3) Do you have any third party programs on when playing TF2? (I don't mean hacks, i mean things like Skype or Firefox)
4) Are you a cat?

1) Does it happen at relatively regular intervals, or is it completely random?
2) Have you altered your TF2 folder in any way lately?
3) Is your ISP stable as it is? I know mine was undergoing some sort of construction a year or so ago, which really screwed me up.
4) Are your network drivers up to date?

Try and figure out if it's happening on only 32 player servers.

Also, what type of router do you have? I have heard the Netgear causes problems.

Ive got a cable running from my basement to the 2nd floor of my house.SandvichSpy wrote:no shit, but unfortunately I don't have an ethernet line in my room nor a phone line, and I'm not digging a cable in under the carpet or running it through the ceiling.Avatar wrote:Wireless routers is for people who like men. I use wireless because I'm pretty sure a mouse chewed through the eternet cable I had run from upstairs to the basement and I'm too lazy to fish it out of the wall again.
That and it's wireless from the box on my roof to the tower about a mile up the highway.
Double wireless. What does it mean?

Meh I am not elitist enough to give anyone shit about internets. Wireless, dsl, cable, atari2600, who cares? If you are lucky enough that your connection works when you want, and fast enough for you, who cares what it's called?
I dunno, I am just not into connection(pissing) contests.
Try a trace to see where you might be getting some spikes between you and server also Sandvich.

The gay polarities cancel out.Newman wrote:Double wireless. What does it mean?
I have DSL and it makes almost all games, (WoW, TF2, bascially anything over the internet) unplayable from most nights from like 7-10 ish due to network congestion i guess.TheKeef wrote:Meh I am not elitist enough to give anyone shit about internets.
