As long as it plays TF2 then you are alright with what you have. I only put $2000 a year in my PC because I'm a professional gamer and travel the U.S playing in tournaments. My computer is usually paid for in the cash I win or the parts I win and sell. I won that $1000 core I7 and sold it for $900 to fund the rig I have now. AMD BABY! I'll never sell out.

tahko.the.virus wrote:My PC isn't much. I just upgraded some parts from my originally store bought computer.

CPU: AMD Sempron LE-1200 2.11 GHz
Video Card: GeForce 9400GT 1GB GDDR2
RAM: Crucial Ballistix Tracer 2GB (2 x 1GB) DDR2

HD: 143GB + 103GB
Case: 328 Silver ATX Mid Tower
Mobo: Foxconn - MCP61SM2MA-RS2H
PSU: Bestec 350watts
OS: Windows XP

I had originally bought an AMD Phenom X3 8400, but my mobo didn't support it, I guess, so I had to sell it. :\
I also have a 400 watt PSU laying around somewhere. I might start working on my PC again, just need to find a way to make money. :P

It came with a 120mm fan on the door, but it won't fit with the heatsink
That's not a 120mm fan dumbass, it's more like a 250mm. That's why you had so much trouble finding a replacement for it.

A 250mm fan is easy to find. Try to find a 230mm fan!! My Thermaltake Spedo Advance case has two of them and no one makes them.

My almost 1-year old build (Nov 2008), this thing runs everything I throw at it with no issues. I game, and also do some CAD work on it too.

CPU: Intel Q9550 2.83GHz (Quad-core)
CPU Cooler: Zalman CNPS9500 (the blooomin' onion)
RAM: 4x2GB Crucial PC2-8500 1066MHz
MOBO: Gigabyte X48-DS5
GPU: PNY 9800GT 1GB 256-bit DDR3
PS: Antec True Power Trio TP3-650 650W
All in an Antec 300 case (I am not a fan of glowing fans...).
Currently running 2x320GB Hard Drives in RAID 1, I have 2 more and I am probably going to go RAID 10 when I get Win7. Currently running the RC 64-bit, originally ran XP Pro x64 until last May.
2 22" widescreen monitors (Samsung, 2 different eras)
Using an old wireless keyboard from Microsoft, the mouse died a few months ago, using the MX Revolution now. I need a new keyboard, this one is starting to go...

Newegg Rocks! Built this thing for maybe $1200 at the time (nice deals just before Thanksgiving) minus the monitors, I had one at the time and bought another later on. Build your own is so cheap now compared to Dell and the like. And it's actually pretty easy if you have some computer knowledge. Some nice tutorials are out there for the first-timer.

Overclocking??? No need, I have yet to even begin to max anything out, except when I run massive FEA simulations (CAD stuff for those who don't know). I might try to OC the CPU someday, maybe 3.2-3.4 range. And yes, I am running a GForce card which mean I will have to buy 2 new cards to do Crossfire (the MOBO doesn't do SLI). Hey, the card was cheap at the time and it does the job, I'd love to put a pair of the new Radeon cards in someday, first I need to start earning money again...Then Crossfire and some OCing!
