I got one of those fans (silver fins) included with my PSU. I haven't put it in anywhere yet but those bright white LEDs are super bright.

Mullet, I've been studying your case. Is your power supply in the top of your case? And I don't see the ATX power pin, where is that?
And is that a micro atx board, or just a GINORMOUS case?

LOL, Tahko. My Hulk dude was laying down, too. You didn't even see him. My lil Marvel gaming area.

Did I say 100 watts, I noticed I said a lot of shit wrong when I watched it back? It's apploish Vegas, not Vega.

Yeah my case is 23" tall and 23" deep so it really is huge. The PSU is at the top, with the case I have it had the option of putting the PSU at the bottom or the top. I choose the top because I didn't want the heat rising to the GPU, so I put a 120mm fan at the bottom because most cases build up heat in the lower left corner generated by the GPU. So I have 3 120mm intake fans and 2 120mm exhaust fans. The 24 pin power connector is connected right below the memory modules. I have a 6 fan controller for all of the case fans like so.

left top @ 40% speed_______________right top 35% speed with filter.
________________________________right middle @ 35% speed with filter.
lower left @ 25% speed_____________right lower @ 35% speed with filter.

More air going in then going out = positive air pressure in the case keeping dust from entering any cracks all of the the holes and grills have been covered with clear tape. This is what my case looked like before I stripped it.

Hmm...
  • Mac Pro
  • Dual Quad-Core Xeons (2008).
  • 14GBs ram
  • A little over 8TBs disk space across 6 HDDs
  • 3 video cards (ATI Radeon HD 4870; nVidia GeForce 8800GT; ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT) driving 5 monitors - had to do some interesting modifications to get those cards enough power :D - (see photo below)
  • Monitors: 30" Dell 3008WFP; 22" Samsung; 2 19" Samsung; 1 old 17" NEC
  • 3d mouse (3DConnexion - EXCELLENT if you like Google Earth!)
  • Wacom tablet (6x11")
  • Ton of other gadgets hooked to it
About the frame holding the monitors: Built myself, giant L shaped bench coming all the way forward to the front of the desk. The cross beams that the two monitors hook to are 1.25" steel piping, cut to length and painted. This allows full horizontal positioning of the monitors. The arms are Ergotron monitor arms which allow full vertical and swing out ability. Took a while, but finally built this!

Enjoy!

Dual quads, nice. I've been thinking that's my future build idea in a few years.
3D Connexion mice are sweet. I have the Spacepilot Pro at work, and the regular 2-button dealy for myself. Invaluable for CAD work, awesome for Google Earth too of course.

Love the monitors everywhere.
