I got my DDR3 1600 Memory today. This weekend I'll build an unlocked x2 550 with an asus evo board. Should be about 10% faster than my current system. Plus I'll be running RAID 0 again with my vertex SSD's with crossfired 4770's. I'll post a pic after it's finished. It's got blue lights so it's shiny.

EVGA's takes up 2, huh? Well, the single slot was part of why I got the PNY, but still, I doubt you really need the extra slots? I'm really only using 3/7, these modern boards have everything integrated already. I think the extra slot helps with the fan airflow better though. Is the EVGA any shorter than the PNY (which is ridiculously long)?

SandvichSpy wrote:Yeah it's shorter, but the beasty fan mounted on the card is why it takes up more slots. Oh and since the PNY is so long I had to readjust the HDD to a different drive bay just so it would fit right with the power wires plugged into it
Yup, thats why they all take up 2 slots for the most part, its the fan. I just fit a hard drive in front of it in my case. It's a close deal, I think i measured once and it was almost 14" long, lol.

SandvichSpy wrote:That stupid PNY card made me adjust a bunch of stuff I shouldn't of had to just so it fit with everything so that I could SLI it.
Lols. I'm assuming this is because of the length, not the software. Can you imagine if you had gotten another PNY? Goodbye space.

Sandvich should be careful using that Evga card. My old evga card in the non-gaming comp started making noises for a month and then BOOM!
