Looking for a new headset.

Post by Crackers »

So twice now my current headset Steelseries 5hv2 has crapped out on me so I'm looking for a new headset. I was think of getting a Wireless Logitech G930, since the root of the problem with my headsets breaking are the cords getting tangled and tightening the internal wires breaking them. So I was just wondering what you guys use and if you have any recommendations as to what I should get.

That's mine. 7.1 usb with a loooong braded cord. Logitech G35. I'm not a big fan of the shape. But they sound good and are quite comfortable when left on for hours at a time. Also, I can make my voice sound like an alien with the included software.

Well the G930 is the G35 but with wireless. How do you like it hulk? I've read some reviews that say it pinches the ears, and there is a slight feedback if no sound is playing.

Ah the wireless version. I haven't heard any feedback, buzz or anything else for that matter other than during boot up. Granted it's my first set of 7.1 headphones but I used to DJ so I'm aware of the differerences beteween shitty quality and and decent set. The ear holes do need to be adjusted so they don't pinch. Honestly, I attribute it more to the wearer than the design. They slide off if they're not on tight. I'm not a giant so they fit ok. The dynamic range could be a little better. I got mine as a dented item and paid 60 bucks or something with Managalar's assistance. (Thanks Mana) But compared to Pre's headset, they aren't as comfortable. I can't remember his brand. He mentions it somewhere in the forum.

I've been using these ones.

They a little bit tighter than I would prefer, and they can slip off if they're just the tiniest bit loose, but keep them vertical on your head and they won't. You don't really notice how tight it is until after the 4-5 hour mark though.

Not 7.1 though.

Also, the cord is pretty long so you can run it behind your desk and to a front USB port for easy access, and so that the cord doesn't tangle on itself.
