ATI err.. AMD 6000 series out

Phenom 550. It's a dual core.
Those six core amd's would be nice upgrade, no? The lower end one runs around $200.

there not bad, youd be better off going with quad, unless you plan to do alot of encoding, rendering, compiling and junk. otherwise you wont notice any improvements over quad.

Probably going to build myself a decent computer this summer, depending on where I go for university (thinking of Toronto). I know that some card makers are better than others, and I was wondering which ones are the best for both nVidia and AMD.
eg: Powercolor blows (from what I've heard) and Sapphire is awesome.
