Re: vid card died
Wuss, concidering the graphics you play with, just get an integrated card lol.
In all seriousness, it depends on your budget and how long you want to use the card. If you wanna use the card for the few years, make sure you get a 5000 series card so it's DX11 ready. I can personally recommend the 5670. It's a great card, and it isn't as expensive as that Flashy as that stupid 5970.
Anyway, it's a good card. If you're not looking to spend as much though, or just want to have a relatively good card for a lot less money, go for the 4670HD 1gb card. I have it in my desktop right now and I can run almost every game I own on Ultra detail in 1920x1080 resolution. It's nice.
Agree with des, Nvidea is shit.

youd be kinda better off going with xfx since your from the states youll have a lifetime warrenty
id sell you my 4870 for 100 bucks but would cost to much shipping it across the border

Re: vid card died
That's a good card But next time I'm going to try ATI, nVidia's latest several drivers keep crashing, i cant find one that wont intermittently crash and lock up TF2 for about 15 seconds (usually when I'm fighting someone). Windows gives the wonderful message that the driver crashed and recovered...slow recovery!
