The iPad is an overpriced tablet.

The ipad isn't even really a tablet pc, but an oversized itouch (iPhone minus calling, once they add in the ability to use 3g Internet anyway). Also, being as large as it is, you lose the convenience of easy portability which is what made the iPod so popular. I have a feeling that Apple is going to regret the ipad in the end. It's just too similar to the other idevices.

the screen is 9 inches or so, so I think it would be the size of an average tablet PC.

Absolutely ... That and everything you put on it has to go through iTunes first

That's the reason I don't like my iPod. Apple has to control ever aspect of what I do with it.
