still the best option
I know some of you are tired of BFBC2, but it has a lot going for it, more than anything else really. It is the latest iteration in the Battlefield series and carries with it a great many gameplay elements and design elements that show the series' maturity. Yes, the company behind it is an evil giant, and some dumb business guys said, "hey, there is a software company that can produce some great games, we could buy them, trim the fat (staff responsible for timely updates), and keep the profits!" This isn't really a BC2 problem, but a symptom of capitalist greed at its worst. People go to college for those kinds of fail ideas, sorry to insult you business majors out there, but I hate it when a company revolves around profit over product. That being said, there are some great companies who fight against this force (like Valve and CCP and some others), but they are not giants, and they often lag behind some of the giants like EA when it comes to blockbuster development projects. BC2 uses all the latest technology and it shines. The gameplay elements really favor teamwork, and it is fun. Will we see new maps eventually? Yes, but they will have some dumb corporate sponsorship. Will we see game updates and fixes? Yes, but as far as EA is concerned, you already bought the game and it doesn’t owe you anything else, so they will get around to it when they get around to it.
Personally, I really enjoy running around and shooting guys. It annoys me when my knife misses due to some dumb programming, but I’ll deal with it because I can’t really bring myself to play something older and less shiny. I’m going to be a general many times over before I get bored or something superior comes along to replace BC2.

I'm not saying that I'll never play it again. Like you said, it's paid for. Compared to tf2, I have not gotten my monies worth. I hate to feel jipped. And right now, I feel jipped. I watch the twitter feed, so I'll see when they put out a patch for the pc guys. I have the Dr. pepper promo shit whenever that comes out, so I have reasons to come back. But right now, I'm mad at them and not playing their dumb game(that' right, I said it). They have pissed off Pretendica! Pretendica is not happy.
I agree with you Mana, the game looks spectacular. Maybe I'm nit picking too much. My gripes seem like easy fixes, and they just sit on thier hands. I keep waiting for a tweet about the pc guys, guess I'll keep waiting.

Yes, his cube sits empty and I'm lonely now. I haven't heard from him since this weekend.
I understand where you're comming from Pretendica. I have had my hopes and expectations beaten down so many times by EA that I now willingly accept eye candy even if it hurts a little bit. Is it normal to feel a twisted mix of love and hate? Damn you EA!

I'm fine. Horribly disfigured, but I'm fine. I'm the new multimedia specialist at Southeast Community College here in Lincoln. The job is going to be a lot of fun with a lot of opportunity for growth, however I'll probably won't be able to check the forums several times a day like I used to at the old job.
I miss Mana too. We used to have daily conversations about strategy and tactics in BFBC2 and numerous other fascinating topics, now all I talk about is the oil spill with people who weren't smart enough to get into a University, let alone a state college. I also miss lunch time tough guy runs with Bacon and Samuel and Bio and Pre.
With that said, I'm a lot happier in my life. Being stressed out from my job all the time was effecting my family life.
Summer is a good time to get caught up on my gaming. I'll be playing today. We'll see. Once I get into a routine, I'll pick up more gaming hours.
