It's badass, especially in the servers with everything free. JC2 is on sale for $3 for the mp release, I highly advise you get it if you don't have it already.

It's still a mod, but it's been officially endorsed by JC2's dev/publisher and integrated through steam.
I forgot to mention it's also buggy as fuck, but I guess that's to be expected.

bought the game on sale long ago never bothered playing id be more interested in mp though
is the mp just some kinda sand box junk or do campaign thing

When I played the other night I was on a server with 1000 people. I didn't notice any lag, other than spawning in and having building load slow. I did a race and it was pretty smooth, but trying to shoot someone never killed em.
