Marvel Heroes

Post by PRETENDICA »

I've been playing the Marvel Heroes beta with Stephen and Buttslappa. It reminds me of Ultimate Alliance, if anyone has played that, it's almost the exact same feel. It's beta right now, and the server crashed a lot today. When it's not crashing though, it's a lot of fun. It'll be free to play when it's released. I think the lowest buy in is $20, but that still won't guarantee the character you want. If i want to start with Deadpool, I'm going to have to pay $60. Not happy.

Still might get, cause I'm that big a fan. Anyway, it's free to play and a lot like Diablo they say, but I've never played Diablo.

I got in on a couple closed betas, but only played maybe a total of an hour. I enjoyed it, but I'm not a big fan of the control scheme (yes, I know it's just like Diablo and all action RPGs). And yeah, I tend to be a collector in games like that, so I would want all costumes--no way I'd shell out $200 though.

I heard the drop rate for other characters/costumes will be pretty low though... obviously no way to know yet since it's still in beta, but I am assuming it will be low if they plan on making any money. I'll probably end up dropping some money into it once it comes out though, as most the starters aren't the best (Storm ftw)

Deadpool is getting hosed. He needs a buff. There's a 12 page thread in their forums about him. Stephen's right, there'll be drops like after you complete a mission or a boss. I already got Thing and Scarlet Witch that way. I'm betting the more you play different characters, the more you'll unlock others.

I dunno, I got kicked from again a bunch tonight. :/

I bought The X-Force pack. Cable, Colossus, Wolverine, and of course DEADPOOL. The last patch on the beta made it real easy to play. Still had some glitches, sound would go weird last night i remember, but other than that it was a lot of fun. I finished the story mode and got into the dailies with a couple of other guys. It's a lot of fun multiplayer. I actually tried to go back the next day and couldn't advance any further cause the bosses were too hard. Magneto would kill me in 2 seconds, and the fucker can regen health, so by the time I'd run all the way back, he was full health, impossible. So I switched to Storm and Thing and leveled tehm up.

I love Marvel. I love it way more than DC stuff. Don't get me wrong, Man of Steel will be the greatest movie ever of all time, suck it Citizen Cane. But Marvel has soooo much better vilians. And it's the villans that makes the super hero.

The x-force pack would be pretty sweet. Colossus is one of my favorite marvel characters, and he has a couple sweet costumes.

Stephen told me he got the Founders Pack. So by the time we get in, he'll have our guild all setup. I think the founders get to play at midnight tonight. I haven't gotten an email with how to download :/

Gene Hackman as Lex Luthor, and the guy who played Zod was no slouch.

It was great for us, at the time. These super hero movies were made for cgi, and we didn't have that growing up. I think Henry Cavil is about to bitch slap Christopher Reeves. We'll see, Reeves was Superman.
