I was actually thinking about this yesterday. I was trying to remember the first FPS when Quake, Half-Life and Wolfenstein came to mind.

I never played Half Life so this will be fun. :D

Oh my god. Fucking finally. I honestly thought it was vapourware a year back. So did a lot of fans. This is very good news

Black Mesa will require the FREE Source SDK Base 2007 to run. If you are not too sure that you have Source SDK Base 2007 installed or you don't own any source based games, please click here to download and install the Source SDK Base via Steam for FREE.

and i havent seen anything that its not the full game

They said Zen is not ready at the moment, and will be released separately in the near future. (Read: 8 more years)

According to Stephen's quote, you just need Source SDK Base 2007. Any Source Game installed should work (ie TF2) unless I misunderstand (probably do).

Owning any game will allow you to download source sdk base 2007, but you have to download Source SDK Base 2007 separately from the tools section under your library. Owning a valve game just allows you to download it for free.

Even the torrent is slow. 1200 seeds, 6600 peers, less than 100kb/s sometimes.

The torrent doesn't seem too bad now, about 3000 complete files, mines going at over 500kb/s now. 2 minutes to go. I'll be a good guy greg and leave my work computer on over the weekend to help with seeding.
