when you take a photos[sic] the image becomes upside down, not flipped. it works alot like your eyes.
when you mirror something it becomes flipped. the light rays travel towards an object with a high refractive index, making the light waves travel onwards at an angle of refraction bigger than 45 degrees, creating the image of a non-exsisting virtual word of reflectivelyness, where everything is flipped.

what did they learn kids in school the last few days?

Apple is notorious for horizontally flipping the webcam. Why they do it? I have no idea.
