I fish a lot and I build cast nets for bait and Mullet. So the name kinda stuck.

The mullets or grey mullets are a family (Mugilidae) of ray-finned fish found worldwide in coastal temperate and tropical waters, and in some species in fresh water also. Mullets have served as an important source of food in Mediterranean Europe since Roman times. The family includes about 80 species in 17 genera.

You seen any effect from the oil spill where you're at?

Yeah I am right on the beach dude. We saw a ton of oil wash up. The bad news is there cleaning the top of the sand but if you dig down there is many layers of oil, this will effect us for many years to come. If and when another hurricane hits it will uncover all of the buried oil and pile it back on the beach. Me and my buds have given up fishing this year and I will start again in the spring. I will look at the fish closely and may try and figure out where I could have the meat tested for contaminates.

Jesus, that sucks about the beaches and fishing. The ecological damage done to the gulf is under reported. They are doing a lot of advertising in Nebraska right now about building a new pipeline. It's like we learn nothing from these tragedies.
