Re: What do you guys think of Ati vs nVidia?
So I finally played some games with Rivatuner running the performance graphs on my secondary monitor. I'm sorry I did. Temps top 81C (esp. in SC2 Beta-no I didn't get in, but a friend did, TF2 is similar though temps), and even maxing out the fan only knocks 1-2C off that. I've got a side panel fan,...

Lol Newman, nice one. Gimme the PC, Macs are rather frustrating. No *%^! right-click on their normal mice!

Re: What do you guys think of Ati vs nVidia?
Glad I haven't updated, I'm running the "safe" 196.21 drivers atm. Incidentally, according to Rivatuner my 9800 GT core runs at 66C (with no 3D apps open, at 34% speed, no O/C)...a bit warm for my taste, I'ma gonna have to up the fan speed I guess, too bad the thing sounds like an airplane...

Re: Slap Chops new PC build........
All housed in an Antec 900 case riding on windows 7 (OS) 1.8gb of storage...still waiting for SSDs to drop in price. I'm hoping you mean 1.8TB. Otherwise, I want to know how you managed to install a 3GB (ISO size, so like 15GB installed) Win 7 on there! Nice build though. Got enough cooling, lol. S...

Re: Steam for Macs. Say waaaaa?
Hahaha, I've been waiting for HL2:E3 for so fucking long... Like, idk. Valve has a tendancy of taking SO long on games. Look at Team Fortress 2! The dev was like, 10 years. It's like, blizzard. Yea and they've been working on TF3 now for a few years I heard recently. 2015 release tentatively. At le...

Re: What OS do you use?
Win 7 Pro x64 on my desktop Xp Pro on my laptop (I'd put 7 on it but it has a crappy GPU - 32MB shared video RAM FTW!) Windows 7 kicks the S*** out of Vista. Hands down. And XP. And I loved XP. I put Vista on my desktop when I built it and uninstalled within 2 weeks. Nothing worked right, drivers, p...

Re: Someone borked Steam friends lists
Lol, yea so I figured Valve did something when mine went down like that. Then my friend gets home and asks me (on AIM since steam is down of course) why his was broken...Hopefully they fix it soon.
And TF2 is updating atm...

Re: Mala's New Computer Build
To tag on what BoyButtSlapa said above, look at the Gigabyte boards. I highly recommend them, I've used them in both systems I've built in the last year (one wasn't mine), and they are rock solid. No problems with either out of the box, and good prices on them. Easy to overclock with them too from w...

Re: Video Card to play TF2 maxed out
It's a PNY. They might be out around you, or it is just regional, I don't know. They were on "clearance" though still on the shelf with all the other non-clearance. For months. It's not a card they make anymore, hence the "clearance" and the fact that Newegg hasn't had one in abo...

Re: Posting my PC, but I have questions too
Looks like a solid system to me. Should run great for you. RE: 4GB vs. 8GB RAM. I have been running 64-bit Win & since July (RC and then Pro). I started off with 4GB because that is what I put in when I built this comp last Nov (similar reason to yours). I had no issues running everything with 4...

Re: Video Card to play TF2 maxed out
I run a 9800GT 1GB card, tf2 is maxed out on everything except AA which I haven't really played with. I get a solid 60 fps in battle (~150 fps in spawn, lol), when there is a ton of people on-screen, it drops to maybe 35-45, still no issues playing at that. 1680x1050 dual monitors configuration. And...

Re: Post Your PC
My almost 1-year old build (Nov 2008), this thing runs everything I throw at it with no issues. I game, and also do some CAD work on it too. CPU: Intel Q9550 2.83GHz (Quad-core) CPU Cooler: Zalman CNPS9500 (the blooomin' onion) RAM: 4x2GB Crucial PC2-8500 1066MHz MOBO: Gigabyte X48-DS5 GPU: PNY 9800...
