Hitscan weapons are like sniper rifle, shotgun, minigun, etc. Low FPS doesn't matter for projectiles so much since you don't need the same precision. Jane is right though. Keeping your graphics low helps you focus on the gameplay. Unnecessary flash that takes your eyes off of killing is a disadvanta...

I play on badwater, didn't even know there was CTf server.

I watched some gameplay trailers for MW2 and it looks way too slow for me. I lol'd irl when I saw what they consider CTF action. Probably won't pull me away from quake or TF2 for too long, although I may by it since a few friends have it already.
